As teachers, we all know how difficult it can be to jump in and begin our teaching careers. By accepting a student teacher in our classrooms, we are enhancing their knowledge and their skills to achieve the level of classroom management and instruction when they begin their teaching career.

  1. When school administrator’s request a cooperative teacher, be the first to respond.
  2. Give the student teacher the best instruction, advice and classroom management resources known.
  3. Record any communication with the student teacher be objective and constructively critical when necessary.
  4. At the end of the experience, submit a reflection including the year, student teacher name, and how you think the experience went in the comment box below.
